John, Daniel and Elliott and the rest of the team at Harbour City Homes have extensive building experience and did an excellent job renovating my federation home in Sydney. The quality of the building work was exceptional and, at all times, John, Daniel and Elliott worked with me in a very collaborative way. Their expertise and collaborative manner were especially valued, because the project, which completed in August 2022, involved an extensive renovation of an old heritage house, where existing structural issues needed to be dealt with and new additions matched, or made complementary to, heritage parts of the existing house. After completing plans for major renovations, our architect personally recommended three builders. We obtained quotes from each of the builders and chose John Condon for the job. After several meetings, we were very pleased with our decision and most impressed with his ‘down to earth’ approach and easy-going manner.

Since I travel frequently with work, I needed a builder who would be flexible enough to time the work to coincide with the days I was at home. John was more than willing to do this and the work proceeded very smoothly.

The tradesmen who were employed by John were of a very high standard. In fact, we have used the painter and the electrician for a number of other jobs since our renovations were completed. We requested that the new work blend in a particular way with the original fabric of the house. This required the use of both traditional and modern techniques and was successfully achieved on John’s part. My project involved a total renovation of a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment on the 12 th floor of a high rise apartment block in Sydney’s CBD. In undertaking the project a number of obstacles were everyday issues. For example, parking restrictions, internal lift access, delivery drop offs and the strict strata by-laws which severely limited the daily hours of work in the building. Such hindrances were dealt with seamlessly by John, and the 12 week deadline for completion was successfully achieved.

In order to achieve this outcome Harbour City Homes was very well organised with John always being available with a same day response time which meant there was no confusion, hidden costs or unwanted surprises. Being able to ring John directly regarding any changes, queries or updates was particularly reassuring especially as I had not previously undertaken a renovation on such a scale and definitely not one subjected to such a tight timeframe.

John and his team, including the subcontractors engaged were all well organised and their workmanship was of the highest order. Also, being a family based business, Harbour City Homes projected a level of professionalism and honesty across all aspects of the project which gave me a sense of confidence and peace of mind throughout the renovation process.

We retained John Condon's company Harbour City Homes to do major building work on our Federation house in Mosman a while ago. It included: constructing a second story and an extension at the rear of the property. John and his boys were a pleasure to deal with, efficient, kept us apprised of the progress of the construction and the workmanship was A1. You hear lots of stories builders being recalled to fix leaks and shoddy workmanship. Not this company! if we were to renovate again, I wouldn't hesitate to use John and Harbour City Homes.

We recently renovated our home at Elizabeth Beach. This included replacing the large Timber Decks which are elevated above the ground.

Harbour City Homes did the job so promptly and efficiently. In fact John and the boys caught us by surprise they were so efficient.

They also cleared a lot of rubbish from the property, replaced a flight of outside stairs, and did a large area of paving.

All access to the site is difficult but was no problem to John and the boys.

The difference this has made to our lives is incredible, we are now so connected to the outdoors and the garden, and our living space has trebled.
